If you're reading this article, you're probably wondering how to grow your Discord server.
How do some servers have hundreds or even thousands of members? How do they stay active?
Here are some steps we've learned and applied over the past 2 years that have helped us grow our server to the size it is today.
Having multiple Discord servers and growing one to over 80,000 members requires time, dedication, and patience. It's especially challenging in the beginning when you're trying to gain your first few hundred to thousand members.
There will be difficult days where you feel like giving up, but if you can push through those early stages, it gets easier.Let's begin!

Secret Tip 1#

Listing your Discord server in online directories is a great way to help it grow.
This makes your server visible and accessible to millions of users who are searching for a new server to join.
Here are the top 5 listing websites where you can list your server:

Secret Tip 2#

Level roles
Creating levels and activity roles on your Discord server can help encourage activity and keep members around.
People on Discord love to level up and achieve new things, so if you can give them this opportunity, they will be more likely to stick around.
Keeping your server active is important for growth, as people are less likely to join and stay on a dead server. We suggest using these two bots for levels and activity roles

Secret Tip 3#

Branding
It's important to know what type of audience and server you want from the start. Creating a server for everything might seem like a good idea, but servers with a specific focus are more likely to succeed.
Your Discord server is also a form of a brand - one that you have created. And like any brand, it needs to be taken care of and marketed.
Use an appealing and easy-to-remember server name. If the server name can't be remembered after the first visit, you probably need to reconsider your name choices. Once you find a server name that matches the type of audience and server you want, create a "brand" around it.

Secret Tip 4#

Partnerships
Partnerships between discord servers can be a great way to gain members, but they require a lot of time and effort.
When done right, they can result in custom channel partnerships or DM on join partnerships.
This means that when a user joins the other server, they get an invite to yours, and vice versa.
However, some partnerships can have the potential to make your users leave for the other server, so it's important to weigh the pros and cons before deciding whether or not to pursue one.You can find servers looking to partner with other servers here: https://discordhome.com/partners

Secret Tip 5#

Spending Money
If you've just started a server and aren't seeing the growth you expected, don't worry this is normal. Every server goes through this stage.
You might have heard people tell you to buy members or pay them to bring in members, but we discourage you from doing that! Not only is buying members against Discord's terms of service, but it will also only get you bots.
Imagine having a server with a thousand users who were all bots and never spoke a word, a pretty dead server with just a number to it. This is not what you want. What you need is organic growth of real members. There are a few ways to attain your goal, and spending money is obviously the easiest method. However, it's important to know how to efficiently spend your money in order to get the most value out of each dollar.

Premium in discord listing website.
Each listing website has their own unique set of perks and benefits that can help your server grow. However, which ones will work best for you will depend a lot on your specific server. That being said, we will share with you the listing websites that have been most beneficial for us in terms of value and results.

1. At this point, you might be thinking that we're just saying this because we own the listing website. However, that's not the case! There are a few reasons why we picked this as our number one choice. Firstly, because premium servers don't have to constantly bump like some other listing sites require. This will save you time and let you focus on other important tasks. Secondly, being premium on discordhome will help you gain passive daily growth. Just sit back and relax!

2. Discord.me is a great listing website if you have the money to purchase premium, but you will have to bump the server 4 times everyday if you want to keep it visible on the top. This can be time-consuming and may not be worth it if you're not able to commit to checking and bumping the server regularly.

3. This listing site is more of a hit or miss. We haven't personally used it to buy advertising, but we've heard that some people have had good luck with it. It has a bidding system where you can bid for the top spots in different categories and pages. Some of the top spots can go for hundreds of dollars, so it might not be the best option if you're on a tight budget.
